The Jesus Movement of the late 1960s and 1970s was a Spiritual move of God among the young people of that time, especially among the young people who were called Hippies who dropped out of the normal society to live free and live a life of peace and love and of putting spiritual values above material ones. In their quest for spiritual reality they discovered that Jesus was really alive and offered them the true love, joy and peace that they were seeking and as they began to tell others about Jesus and what He had done for them they began to be called Jesus People. They did not start a new church or denomination, but sought to do what Jesus wanted them to do on an individual personal basis as He had done with His Apostles when He was here on Earth. Each and every one of us is called to follow Jesus, that is the heart of Christianity.
